I have shared some upcoming halloween activities in Bristol on Instagram, but there are so many family Halloween activities around Bristol that I thought I would try sharing them in one place so you can plan the best Halloween! If you see any other great sounding events let me know and I’ll update!

Halloween Theatre and Trails

Halloween Trolls – Family Theatre and Halloween Trail – Watch a play about two mischievous trolls excited to be invited to their first ever Halloween Party, followed by an adventure trail around Page Park. 29-31st Oct – Bean Tree Cafe, Page Park – BOOK HERE

Spookyard Halloween Festival at Over Farm, Gloucester – Spooky shows, scavenger hunt, maize maze, corn cannons, flying school, fancy dress competition, street food, and the usual farm park activities they have: great new adventure play area, bouncy pillows, mini golf, tractor trailer rides, quad train ride – 15-16th & 22-30th Oct – BOOK HERE

Witches Brew Halloween Trail at Hope Nature Centre – Halloween Trail around the animal park to help the witch make her potion and then find her for a reward! Great animal park here too. – Multiple Oct dates – BOOK HERE

Harvey’s Scarecrow Trail – A brilliant trail of scarecrows to find across Chew Valley. This years theme is “Once Upon a Time”. Money raised goes towards a charity for bereaved children. You can purchase trail maps in Winford or Chew Magna, or download the app. Last year there were 75 scarecrows! On 2nd-30th Oct – MORE DETAILS HERE

American Trick or Treat at American Museums & Gardens – Follow a child-friendly trail through the historic Manor House on a scavenger hunt for magic potion ingredients and tiptoe though spooky rooms where a visiting witch and wizard have made themselves at home. There is also a festive outdoor trail around our decorated autumnal gardens, plus a creation station in the Stables with seasonal activities. Treat for completing the activities! £2.50 per child on top of admission. Prebooking not required. – 22-30th Oct

Wild Place Half Term Trail – Spooky scenes to find across the site and a treat at the end. They are offering 20% off tickets for children who are dressed up or bring a carved pumpkin to add to the pumpkin trail. Use the code WILD20 to get your discount! – 21st Oct – 6 Nov – BOOK HERE

Halloween Spectacular at Wookey Hole – Witches, halloween circus shows, spooky trails, learn how to ride a broomstick and treats for children – 22nd-30th Oct – BOOK HERE

Witches & Wizards at Old Down Country Park – Pumpkin trails, maze, spooky stories, wand making, slime workshops, wicked witches and magical wizard entertainment. You need to pre-book the workshops and pumpkin carving. There are also special halloween afternoon teas – also require pre-booking. New play area will be open! – 22nd-30th Oct – BOOK HERE

Raver Tots Halloween Party – Trying one of these is on my to do list! Family dance party with dancers, performers, cold pyro, bubbles, festival sized confetti blasts, multi coloured lasers and lighting, parachute games, giant balloons, licensed bar and face painting! Family Fright Fest at Almondsbury Creative – Family halloween party with discos, maze, spooky photo booth, face painting, trick or treat hunt and scare actors. Thurs 27th Oct. Only 1-3pm session tickets remaining – BOOK HERE

Halloween Party at The Play Shed, Yate – Fri 28th Oct – Book via phone

Halloween Party at Ocean Adventurers, Cheddar – Halloween decorations, fancy dress competition, zombie laser tag, disco, pumpkin hunt, foam party finale (always a winner!) – Only Thurs 27th Oct 5-7pm left – BOOK HERE

Other Halloween activities in Bristol

FearLESS at FEAR Avon Valley Scream Park, Keynsham – If you have a child aged 11-15 there is a family friendly immersive experience where you explore 4 scare attractions (it is a less scary version of the adult one they do!) There will be fire shows, spooky street performers, fairground rides, side stalls, bar with fun mocktails and street food. – 23rd Oct 3-7PM – BOOK HERE

Halloween displays in Bristol and South Glos Facebook page are collating a map of the best decorated halloween homes! This is a great free halloween activity! Link to the Facebook group HERE

Halloween Forest School with Woodland Makery in Tockington – Expect pumpkin carving (painting or smashing if that’s what you want to do!) toffee apples, LOTS of spooky woodland crafts to make and take home, potion mixing, a fire with a choice of special s’mores and some spooky fun and games. – Sat 29th Oct – Email to book

Pumpkin Patches

Avon Valley, Keynsham – The pumpkin patch here also has spooky entertainment, a small fair ground, live music selected dates and food! Dog friendly (£3 entry). £4.99 pp except babes in arms free. – Multiple Oct dates – BOOK HERE

Avon Valley are also offering a NIGHT time pumpkin patch experience with a bar, firepits, street food, performers and more seasonal entertainment. How cool to see a pumpkin patch lit up at night! They always make such an effort here! Dog friendly (£3 entry). £6.99 pp except babes in arms free. – Multiple Oct dates 5-7pm or 7-9pm – BOOK HERE

Farrington’s Pumpkin Festival – This pumpkin patch has a carving marquee so you can carve your pumpkin on site and avoid the mess at home (carving kits available for £1.50). There is a funfair, straw pool, a witch in the woods on weekends and half term, and trailer tractor rides (£1 pp). The play barn is open but note the farm park play area has closed until April 2023. Entry to the pumpkin patch is £2.50 pp, Under 2s Free (Pumpkins need to be purchased separately) – BOOK HERE

Over Farm, Gloucester – Day and night time pumpkin picking available here! Day time £3-5 pp and night time tickets £6 pp. There will be hot and cold food to purchase with undercover seating, and a bar. Multiple October dates – BOOK HERE

Puxton Park – Free entry and no pre-booking required. You just pay for the pumpkins which vary £2-10 depending on size. Dog friendly. Open Oct weekends and 24th-28th 10am-4pm.

Bath Pumpkin Patch by Newton Farm Shop – Free tickets – Open 8th-9th, 15th, 21st to 30th Oct – BOOK HERE
