Rainbow Wood, Bath is an absolute gem with little ones and completely free! Part of the longer Bath Skyline walk, there is a fairy woodland trail with 15 fairy doors to find. It is a nice short 400m walk – great for little legs. At one end of the trail is a magical adventure play area with a pirate ship! 🏴‍☠️ It is a perfect adventure playground. There is so much to climb on/climb up! You could spend so much time here and lots of places to picnic!

Directions: Free parking on the road at BA2 7BR highlighted in pink on this map (it should go without saying – avoid the double yellows!). Enter the field in the SW corner (there is a National Trust Claverton Down sign). The fairy trail is numbered 1-15 and no 1 is at the adventure play area end. We walked north straight across the field and started at door 15 counting down heading to the play area (located at the end of the trail the yellow star on the map). On our way back to the car we went back through and counted up to 15. Alternatively you could walk diagonally across the field and enter near no 1 if you want to do them in order.

⭐️ Next time we go to Rainbow Wood, Bath I’m going to take a treasure map and some gold coins to hide so we can play pirates and search for buried treasure! 🏴‍☠️

⭐️ Take a look at this leaflet from Bath Council with information about each of the fairies which might be fun to read on your way around!

❌ Please note there’s no facilities.

🐶 Dog friendly!
