Eurocamp TerSpegelt, Netherlands: Full Family Holiday Review & Tips

Overview
TerSpegelt is one of the best Eurocamp holiday parcs in the Netherlands and easily one of our favourite family holidays so far! This parc is perfect for families looking for a beautiful setting, water and bike activities and high-quality facilities.
This stay was part of a press trip (#ad), but we chose this parc ourselves, and this is a completely honest Eurocamp TerSpegelt review. We first worked with Eurocamp last year after booking several trips independently, and they are our genuine go-to for family holidays as they are affordable and have so much going on! Some links on this page are affiliate links. This means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you if you make a booking.
Set around stunning lakes, TerSpegelt offers a fantastic range of water activities, outdoor and indoor swimming (including the brilliant SterrenStrand sand and water play), sandy beach areas, scenic bike trails and pump tracks – ideal for active families with children of all ages.
One of the reasons we chose this parc is the proximity to Efteling Theme Park and Beekse Bergen Safaripark which are both within easy reach and two of the best family days out in the Netherlands!
The accommodation here has been our favourite across all our Eurocamp stays, with holiday homes set around small play areas and car-free grassy spaces where children can safely play and make friends.
Overall, TerSpegelt is a really wonderful choice for a family Eurocamp holiday in the Netherlands. It’s easily drivable from the UK, combines outdoor adventure, amazing day trips, modern facilities and a really family-friendly atmosphere. This Eurocamp TerSpegelt review covers everything you need to know before booking.

Travelling to TerSpegelt, Netherlands
We drove from Bristol and took the P&O ferry from Dover to Calais, which Eurocamp arranged for us. This is a really straightforward way to travel to the Netherlands, with around 3.5 hours driving on either side of the ferry (from Bristol).
You could do the journey in one day if you prefer, but we personally like to break it up by staying in a cheap hotel near the ferry port on both sides. It makes the trip feel less stressful, as we’re already close by rather than rushing to reach the ferry on the day – something we’ve done before and found quite tiring as you have to arrive quite early!
The Eurotunnel is another great alternative worth comparing depending on prices and availability. If you are driving, make sure you have all the necessary documents and equipment for driving in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Alternatively, you can fly into Eindhoven and hire a car – it’s only around a 20–25 minute drive from the airport, making it a really easy option for a shorter travel time.
Accommodation at TerSpegelt (Eurocamp Review)
We stayed in a 3 bedroom Premium holiday home. This is the same style we stayed in last year. We love it for the comfy sofa and dining set on the terrace. We love spending time having a BBQ at our holiday home, and playing games on the terrace.
The absolute highlight of this accommodation is the setting. The holiday home we stayed in was one of several arranged around a central play area, with a car-free grassy space, creating a safe space for the kids to play. Our kids quickly made friends with others staying nearby, and it has been wonderful for them to play out.
This is by far our favourite Eurocamp accommodation setup we’ve experienced – it works perfectly for families. Browse accommodation options here.

Activities at TerSpegelt Holiday Park
SterrenStrand & Indoor Swimming Pools
SterrenStrand is a fantastic indoor sand and water play area, featuring climbing equipment and fairytale style buildings for children to explore. It connects directly to the indoor swimming pool, with access between the two areas.
The indoor pools include a main swimming pool, waterslide, a baby and toddler pool, and a shallow fun pool for younger children with ride-on inflatables.
Both areas are great fun and you could spend hours here. It’s all indoors so perfect whatever the weather. There is seating inside SterrenStrand if anyone wants to go but not get wet!

TubbyJump
Open on selected days, the TubbySlide is a fun inflatable ring slide. There are two different slides with height restrictions – our 4 and 6 year old were both able to go on the smaller one with an adult and absolutely loved it. People get quite a lot of air on the bigger one!
At the same time, the FreeFall attraction also opens. This is very well organised, with children completing a certificate as they progress through different levels. Each level needs to be completed a set number of times before moving up, which makes it a fun challenge!

Lake Activities & Water Sports
There’s loads to do across the lakes, whether you’re after a relaxed beach day or something more adventurous. You’ll find swimming areas, sandy beaches and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP hire is available on site), alongside quieter spots for fishing and windsurfing.
One of the highlights is The Blob – a giant inflatable where one person jumps on to launch another into the water. It’s great for those that are more adventurous and for ages 12+. Pedalos are also available for hire!

Pump Tracks
There are four smaller pump tracks dotted around the parc, like the one pictured, as well as a larger, more challenging course for older children. It’s a fantastic parc for kids who love bikes or scooters! There are also lots of bike trails near the parc.

Gnome Walk at Nature Gate TerSpegelt
Nature Gate TerSpegelt is located opposite the entrance to the park and offers a variety of walking trails. One of the most popular family friendly options is the Gnome Walk, where children can follow the trail through the woods, spotting gnomes along the way and discovering their hidden toadstools and woodland features. Pick up your gnome trail pack from reception for a small fee and get a hat, red cheek face paint and a few trail related bits in a bag!

Crafts
Huge crafts room with some lovely inspiration and you can make whatever and as much as you fancy! Sessions are for 2.5 hours on select days, so you can spend a ages here if your little one is into it!
Bike Rides
You can hire bikes at TerSpegelt or bring your own, and there’s a fantastic network of cycle routes right on your doorstep. There are some lovely short rides that are ideal for families with younger children (as well as longer options!)
One great short option is cycling to De Smaak! in Eersel for ice cream, which offers a variety of flavours, including fun options like Paw Patrol. The ride takes around 15–20 minutes, with much of the route on dedicated cycle paths. The final stretch into town is on roads with cycle lanes. My daughter had only just learned to ride her bike and managed it well.
Another option is to extend the ride to include a visit to the windmill “Molen Hapert”, which has a play area right next to it. This route is approximately 5.3 km (around 17 minutes cycling) from TerSpegelt. A round trip combining the windmill and ice cream totals about 12 km and takes roughly 41 minutes of cycling.
If you want a very easy, short family ride, the ice cream stop in Eersel is ideal. If you’d like something a bit longer, visit the windmill and play area too! There will be much longer options too – chat to reception for advice.

Play Areas
There are play areas of all sizes all around the parc!

Bowling
The bowling alley is brand new and in a bowling pub where they often host the entertainment. The course is colourful and there were various options of themes and types of games to choose from. The kids loved it!

Miniature Golf
We love mini golf as a family- although for now its mainly me and my partner against each other. This is quite a hard course, but it was fun nevertheless!

Petting Zoo
Small goat enclosure with animal feed available for 50 cents.

Food, Restaurants & Shops
There have been some fantastic new facilities added recently at De Brinck including a huge craft room, kids disco entertainment space, bowling alley and pub, a refurbished supermarket, and a covered terrace with outdoor cinema screen alongside a welcoming modern bar/hang out space.
There are also two restaurants on site, both offering a great selection of meals and family-friendly play areas. We had a delicious meal at De Keizer, located near the entrance opposite NatureGate, which also has a bouncy pillow for kids. De Wijde Blick, set by the lakes, is another lovely option and has an ice cream and pizza takeaway next door.
We also enjoy cooking (mainly BBQs) at our Eurocamp holiday home, and the on-site SPAR is a really good size with everything we needed. Whilst there are larger supermarkets nearby, we usually stick to the on-site shop unless it’s particularly small. We were even able to buy a chocolate cake there for Ada’s birthday!
Entertainment

There are five “stars” (characters) who host the children’s entertainment. Check the programme for the schedule, but during our visit, there was a mini disco most evenings featuring games and songs. Guests can get postcards featuring the stars and collect their signatures across your stay.
During the day, there were also interactive play sessions with the stars at the beach. Additional entertainment included bingo, live music, and dinner with the stars experiences.

Day Trips from TerSpegelt, Netherlands
Efteling
Efteling is a fairytale theme park in the Netherlands, less than an hour from TerSpegelt. Being able to visit Efteling was one of the main reasons we chose this Eurocamp parc. Efteling is the third most visited theme park in Europe (after Disneyland Paris and Europa)! The fairytale theme is great as it works well across all languages. The park is wonderfully magical, with lots of unusual and imaginative characters throughout as well as some you’ll recognise.
There’s a variety of rides for all ages. We focused on the more child friendly attractions with our 6 and 4 year old, and we managed to fit plenty in during a single day. If you’ve got older children or want to experience more of the rides, I’d recommend two days. We felt satisfied that we did all we wanted in one day and we were there from open to close – about 9 hours!
Rides and experiences we did:
- Droomvlucht – a magical dark ride through a fairy forest (mine and Ada’s favourite!)
- Symbolica – a beautifully detailed dark ride with lots going on. This one felt very Disneyland.
- Max & Moritz – a fun family rollercoaster that’s pretty fast! You can choose either the Max or Moritz track (blue or green)
- Sirocco – similar to teacups, but in spinning boats instead
- The Swinging Ship
- Carnaval Festival – gentle ride similar in style to It’s a Small World
- Hooghmoed – new chimney sweep up and down ride
- Carousel
- The Fairytale Forest – a walkthrough rather than a ride, but a must-do with young children. There’s so much to see!
- Talking bins – these are very quirky and fun! Our kids loved them so much we got a fridge magnet of them! 😆
- Plus lots of great play areas dotted around the park
There were quite a few other rides we didn’t get around to, but we managed to tick off everything we wanted to do. Get the app to keep an eye on queue times! Best to do Symbolica first as it’s popular.
We had a wonderful day and would highly recommend it. The park is also quite well shaded in places, which makes it a good option on a hot day.
Tip: if you have a birthday around the time of your visit, sign up to the newsletter before you go. You can receive a birthday discount for your whole party, valid for your birthday month and up to 15 days the following month. We used this ourselves – take ID with you as they will ask!
Beekse Bergen
Beekse Bergen is home to both a Safaripark and Speelland adventure park, and they are best enjoyed on separate days as there is lots to do at each! We actually stayed onsite for a few days before heading to our Eurocamp holiday, but they also make fantastic day trips from TerSpegelt as Beekse Bergen only approximately 37 minutes drive.
Safaripark at Beekse Bergen
The Safaripark at Beekse Bergen can explored in three ways: by car, on foot and by boat. Our favourites were definitely the car safari and the walking routes. The boat trip is a lovely option if you fancy a break, but it is in Dutch and we found we were passing areas we’d already seen by car, so I wouldn’t prioritise it.
Driving through the park is such a highlight – and there is an audio tour in English which you can download via the app. I would recommend doing the car safari on your arrival and then exploring on foot. The park is spacious, beautifully landscaped and much of it feels like a nature reserve rather than a traditional zoo. There are lots of wonderful animals to see – our favourites were the hippos, crocodiles, rhinos and tigers! There are also plenty of play areas dotted around which were great for our kids.
Speelland at Beekse Bergen
Speelland is an absolute dream for kids, especially on a sunny day. Inside, there’s a huge safari themed soft play that’s modern, clean and big enough to keep children entertained for hours.
Outside there’s a beautiful lakeside setting with sandy play areas and plenty of space to run around. My kids especially loved the obstacle courses across the water leading to a little island – such a fun and slightly adventurous activity!
There are also trampolines, a bouncy pillow, pedal cars, bouncy castle, a car ride and loads of other play equipment to explore. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend a full day without running out of things to do so I would definitely do this on a separate day to the Safaripark!
If you would like to find out about staying at Beekse Bergen, I will have a review on that coming soon. It worked really well to do a few nights there and then head to TerSpegelt!

Bruges
We split our journey back to Calais with a stop in Bruges, Belgium. This beautiful historic city is known for its architecture, Belgian waffles, chocolate shops, canal boat rides, and horse-drawn carriages.
We had a wonderful time experiencing many of these (although we didn’t try the horse-drawn carriages). We visited the Cathedral and the Basilica of the Holy Blood – the later was more decorative and well worth seeing. You can also climb the Belfry for beautiful panoramic views over the city, although it was hot during our visit so we chose to skip this.
The Market Square and De Burg are must visit areas in the historic centre. One of our highlights was the canal boat ride. You don’t need to pre-book, just turn up. The trip lasts around 30 minutes and costs approximately €15 per adult and €9 per child (from age 4).
We also stopped at The Waffle Duke for Belgian waffles, which were delicious. It made for a fantastic day, and we were then only around an hour from our hotel near the ferry port so it was a great way to split up the journey.
We parked at the Station car park. It was affordable and your car parking ticket gives you a free park and ride bus into the centre!

Would we recommend TerSpegelt?
We would wholeheartedly recommend TerSpegelt for a family holiday in the Netherlands. The journey is easy with a straightforward ferry crossing, the facilities on site are fantastic, and the accommodation is thoughtfully set up around play areas, making it ideal for families with young children. Honestly, the accommodation was one of my absolute highlights as the kids made some really nice friends! There are many brilliant day trips nearby, and it’s the perfect base for exploring the Netherlands. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Definitely one to consider for your next family holiday!
