We were kindly invited to the pre-opening of the brand new community play space and cafe – Out There Indoors in Bristol. It is located at the Paintworks in BS4, and opening this Monday 13 March!

📍 389 Paintworks, Bath Rd, Brislington, Bristol, BS4 3AR

From the founders of Out There Kindergartens (a forest school pre-school) comes a new indoor play space. They have taken some of the best parts of their forest school and brought them inside, as well as introducing new play resources. Think open ended toys, role play, fine and gross motor development – lots of lovely wooden/natural material resources with learning opportunities! For the bravest tots there is even a huge climbing wall! This is a lovely place to meet your friends with children for play, chats, coffee and locally sourced homemade food.

Play sessions are aimed at children aged 0 to 4 years old (and their siblings up to 7 years old).

⏰ Play sessions are Monday-Friday (1 hr 45 mins per session):

  • 10.15AM-12PM
  • 1.30-3.15PM
  • 3.45-5.30PM

🎟️ £3.50 per person (except under 3 months free). Need to pre-book – note there might be some limited availability whilst it is brand new! There will be membership options in due course.

☕️ Locally sourced & all the good stuff when it comes to food here! For adults: Coffee, toasties with locally sourced cheese, home made soups in winter & fresh salads in summer. For little ones: simple toasties and tapas.

🚘 3 hours free parking in the nearest public car park to Boca Bar (Zone A) and it is a short walk from there. There is also an underground visitors car park in Zone C of Paintworks which is £1.90 an hour. If you are coming on foot there is access from Edward Road which brings you into Paintworks close to the play space. This road also has unrestricted parking.

👶🏼 Currently no space for buggies inside unless it’s a small one that can fold up. They are working on this so watch this space! You can leave them outside the unit but note this is not covered.

⭐️ Why not pair with a visit to:

  • Arnos Vale Cemetery – they have a free scavenger hunt (collect the sheet in the gift shop), walks, cafe and periodically do family events e.g. Julia Donaldson themed Story Stomps which are great! There is also Arnos Park with a play area a bit further along the A4.
  • Bocabar for a drink or yummy pizza afterwards! 🍕 There are some nice cosy sofa spaces you can book.

Thank you for reading! We are so pleased Out There Indoors has opened in Bristol. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to be kept up to date on any new openings, and our picks of the best upcoming family events & activities!
