Kingsgate Park, Yate

kingsgate park yate

This was our first visit to Kingsgate Park in Yate. The showstopper is the fantastic huge wooden adventure play area, but there are also great play areas for little ones!

🦢 There is a big pond very close to the play areas, and there are swans and ducks to feed (although also the usual scavengers i.e. seagulls & pigeons!). You can buy bird feed from the Vintage Birdcage Cakery if you do not take your own. We also saw a frog which was fun! 🐸

🧺 Picnic opportunities & some rainbow benches!

💦 Stream for paddling

🚻 Public Toilets (although I have heard these are not great so perhaps buy something from the cafe and use their’s!)

Vintage Birdcage Cakery

🧁 Adjoining the park is the Vintage Birdcage Cakery – a beautiful quaint cafe with floral decor, and it’s dog friendly! Take your partners, daughters, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, or anyone that would appreciate a beautiful cafe and treats. There was indoor and outdoor covered seating. They had SO many different cakes and my vegan brownie was amazing! I would love to try their afternoon tea and lunch. It would be great place to go for Mother’s Day!

Parking

🚘 We parked in the cafe car park as we were going there anyway (you need to check in inside and purchase something). Cafe car park: Stanshawes Ct Dr, Yate, BS37 4DZ

The park also has a small car park: Elmwood, Yate, BS37 4JB. If that is full try parking on the residential roads nearby.

Thank you for reading our review of Kingsgate Park, Yate & Vintage Birdcage Cakery

We had such a lovely day here – it was our first time but it has been on my list for ages! We will 100% return as it gets warmer for some paddling in the stream. You could easily spend hours here.
