Bristol Harbour Festival Fri 17 – Sun 19 July

A brilliant FREE, action‑packed festival with music, dance, circus performances and loads of water‑based fun. Our reel from a few years ago shows some of the best bits — the baby race, sand and water play zone, face painting and even meeting a mermaid.

This year, the family playground is in Queen Square, and the organisers are putting a big focus on the Harbourside loop being central to the festival — so expect activities all around the water.

It does get busy, so heading down earlier in the day is definitely the way to go. We’ve found Sunday has a calmer, more family‑friendly atmosphere than Saturday (fewer people drinking).
