Zog

Our visit to the Zog Activity Trail at Westonbirt Arboretum

We were luckily gifted tickets to try out this trail and we had so much fun! Ada turns 4 in a few months time and she got so much out of it. This is on at different Forestry England sites across the UK, so if you aren’t local to Westonbirt, it might be worth checking if there is another one near you!

Two things you need to do before starting:

  1. Download the free app “Zog: A Forest Adventure”. Probably best to do at home on WIFI in case you have any signal issues there. At every stage of the trail you scan the Zog signpost and you get an AR version of Zog appear and you can take photos or video with him through the app – it’s such a fun feature!
  2. Buy the activity pack from the shop for £4. This is a must to get the most out of the trail. There are different activities to do at every trail stop (really great variety), colouring, stickers (with golden stars for completing the activities at each of the stops), Zog wings (big hit!), and glasses that you put on to reveal a letter at each stop (which you collect as an anagram to figure out). Ada loved completing all the activities to get her golden stars! ⭐️ As long as your child is able to draw or write a little bit, they will be able to do the activity pack with your help. Although I’d still buy it just for the wings for younger ones!

Westonbirt also has the Gruffalo trail, which you go past near the end of the Zog trail so easy to combine seeing both.

The Zog Trail is on until 19 Sep! 🙌
