Family Friendly Coronation Events in Bristol
The King’s Coronation is on Saturday 6 May (ceremony at 11am and procession beforehand), and the Monday is a bank holiday hooray! There are lots of family friendly events on in celebration in Bristol:
Watch the Coronation and Concert on the Big Screen
- Bristol Cathedral from 10AM on Sat 7 May. Tickets available soon here
- Bristol & Bath Science Park BS16 7FR. Free events with bar, ice cream van and food stall. Take picnic blankets or hire a picnic bench. Book tickets here

- Sun 7 Concert from Windsor Castle Screening 12PM-11PM

- Chipping Sodbury Big Lunch 12-5PM. Bring your own picnic. Free entertainment including bubbles for kids, and music. There are crown making and miniature garden competitions (make in advance and take with you). See more
- Cadbury Heath Coronation Big Lunch 12-2PM. For locals – food provided and some colouring activities for kids. See more

- King’s Coralnation Weekend at Bristol Aquarium Sat 6 & Sun 7 – “Get hooked on the festivities as we cast off with an unforgettable weekend of regal fun! Join us in our underwater realm as you take part in our Royal Fish Trail, and spot our Royal Fish Portraits too.” Usual admission costs apply.
- Hurrah for King Charles at Berkeley Castle Mon 8. In celebration of the coronation of King Charles III, Berkeley Castle will be hosting a previous King Charles! Join in with this Royal occasion with music, dancing and the chance to talk to King Charles II himself. Book tickets here
- Coronation Crafts at Wild Place Project. Natural crown making workshops Sat 6 – Mon 8 12.30-3.30PM. Free with usual admission.

- South Gloucestershire Council Libraries have lots of coronation family events on – see the full list here. To celebrate the coronation, they are also giving out packets of wildflower seeds!
- Keynsham Library Drop in and Free Activities Sat 6 1-4PM – Feel like royalty and decorate a crown and royal badge, join in with a nature trail around the library and enjoy getting creative by making a community garden out of recycled objects.
